What are the dates for the L-R Retreat?

General Registration Registration Deadline: MAY 15, 2023
On April 16th registration will be open to other family members including spouses/male children, etc. any L-R Women who have not paid in full. Once we’ve reached capacity (payments received in full) registration will be closed on April 30th.What is the cost?
The cost is $550 per adult, and $275 for 12 under that bring their own air mattress/sleeping bag.If the townhouse reaches capacity, registration is $250 per person for those who have alternative housing arrangements. Payment plans are available, starting with a $320 NONREFUNDABLE deposit REQUIRED. Payments can be made by check, Venmo, or Zelle.
What is the fee and cancellation policy?
Pre-Registration is open to all L-R Women now until APRIL 15, 2023 and must be paid in full by APRIL 15, 2023 for a guaranteed reservation. Payment plans are available, starting with a $320 NONREFUNDABLE deposit REQUIRED. Payments can be made by check, Venmo, or Zelle.
If your registration is not paid in full by APRIL 15, 2023, any money you have paid beyond the non-refundable $320 deposit will be refunded.
General registration: If you cancel after April 30th, you will only receive a refund of $230.Where is the townhome?
This recently renovated Historic Property is less than 1 mile to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and situated in the heart of the Shaw/Logan Circle/14th St/U St Corridor in close proximity to restaurants, bars, shopping and nightlife! Walkscore: 98. The location will be released to registered retreat attendees. For proximity, the location is within the proximity of these following landmarks:
City Center - 18 min walk; 9 min bus; 5 min drive
Dupont Circle - 18 min walk; 7 min drive
White House - 25 min walk; 22 min bus; 8 min drive
National Mall - 28 min walk; 12 min Metro; 8 min drive
Smithsonian Museums - 28 min walk; 12 min Metro; 7 min drive
Washington Monument - 37 min walk; 20 min bus; 16 min bike; 9 min driveWhat transportation is available to Washington D.C.?
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from Washington D.C. Feel free to coordinate your travel plans with other family members, please reach out! You can fly, take Amtrak, Greyhound bus, or drive. You will be responsible for transportation from your location to the townhome.Is parking available? If so, how many cars?
Parking is not available at the townhouse. Street parking is available in designated areas and commercial garages are available in the area.How many rooms are available and how will room assignments be done?
Max is 16 people, 10 beds. Room accommodations will include sharing a bed with other family members. The Planning Committee will accommodate those with special needs and senior family members first, and place immediate family members together, couples (if L-R women do not fill up the house), and everyone else accordingly to their best ability!How will we get to the museums and/or other activities in D.C.?
The townhouse is within walking distance of city buses, the metro, and many attractions, restaurants, and shops. Ride share services like Uber and Lyft are also widely available. If you drive to DC, plan on parking your car for the weekend and using public transit or ride shares during the weekend because parking is limited in the city.Is there an additional cost for the National Museum of African American History and Culture?
No, there is no admission fee for the museum. The museum requires advance tickets to enter which the planning committee will secure for our family.What is the general itinerary for the retreat and what meals are included?
Thursday - check-in begins at 5PM at the earliest , dinner providedFriday - Continental breakfast, museum all day (the museum has a cafeteria), dinner is on your own
Saturday - FREE DAY, Continental breakfast, lunch/dinner on your own, late-night wine down & snacks provided, a movie, and/or hot topics (will be gender friendly if men are present)
Sunday - Continental breakfast, light lunch and catered dinner is provided, activities with the family, attire all black for dinner
Monday - Continental breakfast and check out by 10AM
Will I need additional money?
Yes, you will need money for food on Friday at the museum since this will be an all-day event and for dinner. Saturday you will need money for lunch and dinner. You will need money for any other expenditures like shopping, souvenirs, tours, etc. You will need money for your transportation within DC.How will we include the men in our L-R Retreat?
Inviting men will be historic. The Planning Committee will be working on an agenda that will be inclusive.What if I have additional questions? Who do I contact?
